It depends. The Affordable Care Act has allowed lactation services to be covered by many insurance plans.

There are three ways to check coverage: 1) load your insurance card information under your user settings to check eligibility 2) some insurance plans have our services through their own app - view accepted plans HERE - members of these plans should click their plan name and have visits on their specific platforms for coverage 3) we are accepting HSA and FSA plans.

Additionally, you can also contact your insurance provider directly to check eligibility.  At any time after your appointment, you can access a claim receipt within your account if you choose to submit a claim to your insurance provider.  Download our simple guide to accessing claim receipts.

All of Sonder Health's services are available without insurance.  Your visit will be charged to your credit card, HSA or FSA plan.  

Everyone who registers has access to Sonder Health’s board-certified lactation consultants.  And, as an added benefit for our customers, you also have access to other services like urgent care doctors, behavioral health therapists, nutritionists, and women’s health specialty care.

Yes! All of our lactation consultants are IBCLCs - International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. The IBCLC credential is considered to be the gold standard in lactation care.  When you work with an IBCLC, you can rest assured that you will receive competent, expert-level care.

You can log in and book an appointment anytime, 24/7.  If you’ve already had an appointment, you can contact your lactation consultant - even in the middle of the night - using our secure email.

Your first session with your lactation consultant will be 50 minutes. All follow-up visits are 25-50 minutes, depending on your unique needs.

Sonder Health is HIPAA compliant, and just like an in-person appointment, your information is completely private and secure.  We never record or store sessions.
